We all know that the one thing Civ 6 needs is hillier hills. Kelp forests have been introduced as a new terrain feature, while 2 new bonus resources and 3 luxury resources have also been added, which support the Monopolies and Corporations game mode introduced in the recent New Frontier season pass. SukritactвЂ™s Oceans is here to fix that, introducing a new game mode that adds more resources, features, and even gameplay mechanics. The average Civ 6 player may not spend a lot of time thinking about the gameвЂ™s oceans, but if you stop to look closely theyвЂ™re actually pretty dull. Sukritact strikes again with another brilliant mod.

#CIV 5 MODS UPGRADE#

Upgrading your spaces requires upgrade points, which you earn as you play. These new elements have aboslutely no gameplay benefits or effects, and can safely be added to games you already have in-progress. Thrones and Palaces adds new visual UI spaces where you can upgrade not only your own palace-like building, but the throne room within it, offering the bet of both worlds.

Please note that, for the moment, weвЂ™ve only looked at the Steam Workshop to compile our initial list ofВ Civ 6В mods вЂ“ we will be looking at non-steam sources as well for future updates to see if there are still any interesting mods worth checking out that arenвЂ™t on the Workshop. These things can make all the difference though with a game a big as Civ. There arenвЂ™t the sweeping overhauls of say Total War or Paradox games itвЂ™s a bit like when you look at our XCOM 2 modsВ guide, where the main highlights are smaller content packs or UI improvements. ItвЂ™s worth noting that, at the time of writing, the Civilization VIВ mods seems mainly to be about smaller UI or quality of life mods.

The Civ 6В mod scene is just as robust as any other, and there are plenty of interesting options for you to spice up yourВ next play-through.

The secret to the success of a lot of games вЂ“ especially on PC вЂ“ is the potential that mods and other user-generated content can bring to the table. Maybe, now that thereвЂ™s a rating system and more content, itвЂ™d be a good time for me to get back into the game вЂ“ and IвЂ™m sure it hasnвЂ™t escaped anyoneвЂ™s notice, either at Steam or Civilization studio 2K, that this announcement, coming as it does just before Gods and Kings, will probably lure a few back in just in time for the new official expansion.While CivilizationВ VI has had a rough time trying to hold on to the historical 4X crown in recent years, itвЂ™s still one of the most popular strategy games around right now. In the past, IвЂ™ve dipped my toe into the murky waters of mod, but wasnвЂ™t impressed by a Spanish Civil War scenario, which wasnвЂ™t well put together. Speaking personally, I like Civilization, but the main game leaves me a bit cold after a while, and I doubt IвЂ™m the only one who feels that way. Tag the stinkers, and praise the well-designed, so that other users wonвЂ™t be led astray. Some of them wonвЂ™t work as well as others, but thatвЂ™s what the rating system is for. You can browse, rate and trade mods either directly from Steam, or in-game. It works in much the same way as the Skyrim mod community. Steam spokesman Jason Holtman called the move fantastic, and said, вЂњWe hope that the Steam Workshop will provide another avenue for the many talented Civ 5 mod creators to have their work seen and played by millions of Civ 5 fans.вЂќ Steam has brought those mods to their Workshop, which means that all players now have curated access to the mod database. That said, aside from the official expansion, there are also plenty of mods out there, designed by fans of the game who brought their own creativity to the table.

Civilization 5 is one of the premier turn-based strategy titles, with an expansion, Gods and Kings, due later this month.
